The mission of the Faculty of Shipping and Maritime Studies at Metropolitan College is the training and development of highly-skilled executives, able to pursue successful careers in the dynamically evolving global job market of the Shipping and Maritime sector. Shipping is a key link in the global supply chain and accounts for over 95 per cent of all imports and exports. About 90 per cent of world trade is carried by the shipping industry, which offers graduates exciting and varied opportunities, both in Greece and abroad.

The degrees are offered by Southampton Solent University, a world leader in Shipping studies. The University owns Warsash Maritime Academy, the world’s premier maritime education and training provider, offering first class education, training, consultancy and research services to the international shipping, commercial yacht, and offshore oil and gas industries for nearly 70 years. The academic programmes consist of up-to-date modules which cover all the latest trends and aspects of the functional and practical areas of Shipping, Maritime and Port Management.

Metropolitan College is the only organisation in Greece accredited by The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), thus ensuring the high quality of the academic services offered, as well as the fact that the course meets the needs of employers and professional bodies of the Maritime and Shipping industry. Graduates will receive exemptions from the academic requirements for membership at either ‘chartered member’ or ‘membership level’ of CILT, an internationally recognised mark of professionalism in the shipping industry.

Metropolitan College is a Corporate Member of the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association-HELMEPA. The membership's aim is to support the association’s actions to create an environmental conscience in shipping, maritime safety and to maintain a clean marine environment, as well as to expand students training opportunities at contemporary issues and increase awareness of the marine environment protection.
