The BSc (Hons) course in Shipping and Port Management is designed with particular emphasis placed on the latest developments in the Shipping industry, which is booming and will always be a key pillar of the international economy, as it represents 90% of international trade.
The programme’s main goal is the consolidation of specialised knowledge and the forging of vital employment skills, which constitute a career passport in international shipping. During the first two years of study students acquire all the basic knowledge on shipping, while in the third year they specialise in Port Management.
The programme’s main attributes are its completeness as well as its unique incorporation of contemporary issues in shipping. Through essays and projects taking place in real conditions, students experience the sense of “here and now” prevailing in the shipping industry, while developing research skills, business intelligence, team spirit and a communicative flair. Finally, the programme offers the Option to change course and transfer to BSc Maritime Business even at the end of the second year of study.
