Metropolitan College welcomes new international students for the academic year 2019-20

Metropolitan College organized a warm "welcome" for the new international students from Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan who started their studies in the Fall semester of the academic year 2019-20. Students have been enrolled in the english-taught programmes of the following faculties: Human Sciences (Psychology), Hospitality, Architecture, Shipping and Maritime Academy.

During the welcoming-induction event, which took place at Athens Downtown Campus' Taste Gallery restaurant, students came in contact with their fellow students. In order to know each other better they participated in a "introducing the student sitting next to me" ice-breaking game. They also attended a detailed presentation of Metropolitan College by the International Programmes Office staff concerning the programme of study they had chosen and the regulations of the university in collaboration with the course is delivered.

In addition, they had the opportunity to be informed about College's student support services (International Students Office, Academic Support Centre, Counselling Centre, Computer Skills Support Centre, Statistics Clinic, Career Office) within Metropolitan College, but also about cultural life and everyday activities in the cities of Athens and Piraeus. Part of the welcoming philosophy of the event were the delicious salty and sweet snacks prepared by the Culinary Arts and Food Service Development students, adapted to the eating habits and culture of the countries the newly-enrolled students come from.

It is worth mentioning that welcoming international students from different countries and continents is part of the internationalization strategic plan of Metropolitan College.
