The postgraduate programme in Special Education, MA Special Educational Needs (SEN), offers high level academic and professional skills in the discipline of Special Education. The programme is addressed to a wide range of graduates, especially early childhood studies graduates, educators and nurses, professional educators, psychologists and speech therapists and to anyone who wishes to deepen and expand their knowledge of Special Education. During their studies, students have the opportunity to learn in depth and understand the values and practices of the SEN science as well as to develop specialized skills that they will apply in the future in their involvement with disabled people. The programme encourages students to apply theoretical models of Special Education which they will also come across in their professional activity. It focuses on the social dimension of Special Education, which makes graduates capable of providing specialized and effective support to people aiming at education/training (social, emotional, academic).

Entry Criteria

The programme appeals to a wide range of graduates and professionals from many areas (Early Childhood educators, Special Education experts, teachers of primary and secondary education, foreign language teachers, psychologists, sociologists, therapists, etc.) who wish to advance professionally in the field of Special Education.

    • Copy of University degree (issued by Greek or foreign Universities)
    • At least two years professional experience in the field (desirable not compulsory)

A personal interview complements the evaluation of the above documentation.

Candidates without a degree, but with relevant professional experience and proven knowledge of the subject matter are encouraged to apply.
