(FULL TIME)
(PART TIME)
The MSc Rehabilitation at Metropolitan College, in collaboration with Oxford Brookes University, is designed for health, social care and exercise professionals who wish to develop specialist knowledge and skills in the contemporary field of rehabilitation.
The programme offers four specialist pathways: Neurological Rehabilitation, Paediatric Rehabilitation, Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation & Exercise Prescription and Cardiorespiratory Rehabilitation, addressing evidence-based needs in the rehabilitation job market. Through the integration of theory, research and clinical practice, students enhance their clinical reasoning, evidence-based decision-making and ability to respond to complex health and rehabilitation needs.
Rehabilitation is a core area of contemporary healthcare and is approached in the programme both as a philosophy of care and as an active, dynamic process. The person, their needs, personal priorities and participation in the rehabilitation process are placed at the centre.
The programme uses the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) as an international reference framework for understanding functioning, disability, activity and participation. At the same time, it incorporates contemporary approaches to clinical reasoning, outcome evaluation, evidence-based practice and the management of complex rehabilitation cases.
The structure of the programme progressively guides students from general rehabilitation content, such as rehabilitation concepts, pathophysiological foundations and evidence-based practice, to specialist pathway-specific content. Students have the opportunity to link their assignments and research activity to their own professional field, while the interdisciplinary nature of the programme enhances collaboration among different healthcare professionals.

Career Prospects
The MSc Rehabilitation helps students develop their professional practice, enabling them to approach rehabilitation issues through critical thinking, research evidence, theoretical models and clinical reasoning. Graduates can apply their knowledge and skills in:
• leadership roles in the field of rehabilitation,
• specialist professional roles,
• specialist rehabilitation units or settings,
• educational roles,
• research roles,
• interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams.
Graduates of the MSc Rehabilitation can, also, apply their specialist knowledge and skills across a wide range of rehabilitation structures and services, such as hospitals, rehabilitation centres, private clinics, paediatric services, sports organisations and interdisciplinary clinical environments.
The availability of specialist pathways significantly enhances their professional prospects, as it enables them to deepen their expertise in key areas of contemporary rehabilitation, such as therapeutic exercise and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, cardiorespiratory rehabilitation, paediatric rehabilitation and neurological rehabilitation. In this way, graduates can respond to the diverse needs of patients and populations, participate effectively in interdisciplinary teams and contribute to the provision of comprehensive, evidence-based and personalised care.
